RULES AND REGULATIONS VERONAMARATHON VERONAMARATHON GAAC 2007 ASD in co-operation with COMUNE di VERONA Assessorato allo Sport, is organizing the 11th edition of the VERONA MARATHON 42,195 km Which features in the international race calendars: IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation), FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) Place and date: Verona, Sunday 7TH October, 2012 Departure: 9:00 from Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella - Verona Finish: Verona Piazza Bra inside Arena Amphiteatre PARTICIPATION According to the Rules for the Organization of Events issued by Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera FIDAL, athletes who are 18 years old on or before the date of the event may participate. REGISTRATION By the bylaws issued by FIDAL participants must be at least 18 year old on October 7, 2012 and being part in one of the following categories: membership card holders for the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) membership card holders for a foreign Athletics Federation affiliated to the IAAF membership card holders for an Italian Sport Promotion Authority recognised by FIDAL Non member of above defined organization: participants must have a medical license signed by a physician certifying that they are fit to participate in an athletics competition. The medical license must have been issued later than October 8, 2011. VALIDATION OF REGISTRATION: Fill the entry form available in www.veronamarathon.it in clear and readable way and send it via fax to +39 045 511 22 38 Registration will be considered valid only if it is completed by entry form, payment proof, number of IAAF or Sport membership card. REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION A confirmation e-mail will be sent to those athletes having paid and sent all necessary documentation. The confirmation email must be downloaded and printed, in order to collect the bib number at Marathon Village. It is also possible to check regular registration from www.veronamarathon.it. Athletes who have not completed their registration and validation procedure for any reason may receive their bib at the “pending desk” in Marathon Village BIB NUMBER AND RACE PACKET Participants must personally pick up bib number and race packet at the Marathon Village Friday October 5th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday October 6th from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Sunday October 7th from 6.45 am to 7.45 am LEFT LUGGAGE SERVICE Participants may take advantage of the left luggage service. The bag containing your clothing must be posted with the adhesive label which you collect with the number bib. The Organization guarantees the most attention upon collecting and giving back the bags, but it denies any liability for any loss. PACEMAKERS The Organization will provide a team of qualified race assistants who will run the marathon at a constant pace in order to cut the finish line in defined time. Running close to them you can crash the wall of: 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:30, 5:00. In the start area the pacers will be easily seen before the start of the race. MAXIMUM TIME The time limit is 6:00 (hours) WITHDRAWAL FROM THE RACE If you wish to withdraw from the race, make sure you reach one of the points along the route at km 10 – km 15 – km. 21,097 – km 25 km. 30 – km. 35. Shuttle-buses depart from these meeting points to the arrival area, depending on the race in progress. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE Medical assistance and aid stations will be guaranteed all along the racecourse. IMAGE RIGHTS As a registered participant in the VERONAMARATHON, each athlete expressly authorizes the organization, together with its sponsors and partners, to use fixed or moving images taken of him/her during the VERONAMARATHON. Authorization is unlimited and may be used the world throughout or included in all sort of mediums, such as promotional and/or advertising materials, publications and videos -as current laws permit-, for the timeframe foreseen by current laws and rules. MISCELLANEOUS The Organizing Committee reserves the right to vary any clause stipulated in the current Rules and Regulations at any time, due to force majeure.
